Ocon leads in KF3

Esteban Ocon (FA Kart / Vortex) successfully completed a flawless day, winning his 4 heats in the Southern Europe Trophy at Varennes sur Allier. His first opponents were the Spanish driver Pedro Hiltbrand (Kosmic / Vortex), consistent but never victorious, and Alex Palou (FA Kart / Vortex) with 3 wins. Antonio Fuoco and his Top Kart / TM took 4th place. Paolo Besancenez (Sodi / Parilla) was in the top 5, despite the handicap of a 13th position, which says a lot about his potential.

Cautious in these tricky races, the poleman Darius Oskoui (Intrepid / TM) dropped to 8th place. It was a good race also for Benjamin Gerard (Tony Kart / Vortex) in 9th place and Hubert Petit (Sodi / Parilla) in 14th. Alessio Piccini (Tony Kart / Vortex) proved his upward trend, particularly in the last two heats and is 17th.

In 20th place, Dorian Boccolacci (Birel / BMB) paid dearly for successive severe penalties, just ahead of Valentin Naud (Tony Kart / Vortex) who had some solid races. With Florian Latorre 25th and Simon Tirman 29th, this means 8 French drivers qualified directly for the European KF3 Championship at Zuera.

Felix Nilsson (Intrepid / TM) increased his performance in the finals heats including a 3rd place and wins his ticket to Zuera with 27th position. His team mate Erwan Julé, delayed in the heat C / D, ranked 35th, is in first place of the finalists who will compete in the B final in two races in the afternoon before hoping to join the qualifiers. It is also the case for Valentin Moineault (Sodi / Parilla) who was fast but unlucky on Saturday, 42nd in the intermediate classification.
