Hard to Get Victory in Portimao

Just like several other teams, the Sodi Racing Team had to face the challenge of a complicated equipment setup at the Portimao circuit, for the second meeting of the WSK Euro Series. Indeed, the particular grip conditions of the Portuguese track would have required a bit more time to master of the circuit subtleties. Sodi succeeded in getting the situation back on the right track at the end of the weekend, although the team results were not as good as expected.

Charles Leclerc did not have the chance to show his strong potential in KF3, except during his last qualifying heat. Things continued in the right direction in KF1, as demonstrated on the second day by Alex Baron’s remarkable performance: 3rd place in the provisional standings, 4th in the pre-final and fighting for the second place in the final, while his young team mate Anthoine Hubert continued his training in the category positively, up to 11th in Final 2.

Anthony Abbasse had a few small health problems that did not make his difficult task in KZ1 any easier. His efforts were not rewarded in Final 2 since one of his tyres rolled off at the start of Final 2, confirming worries about Dunlop tyres on a track that is both fast and abrasive.

The team is sparing no efforts and remains confident about its means and drivers for the rest of the season. There could be good news for them already at next meeting, the Angerville GPO, to be held in early May.
