The clouds are intensifying above the Sarno circuit when the KZ drivers went out for the formation lap for heat 1 for group A. Yannick De Brabander (Parolin / TM) got a head start ahead of Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) but he soon regained the lead. Jorrit Pex (CRG / Maxter) was third ahead of Armand Convers (Kosmic / Vortex), Bas Lammers (Intrepid / TM) and Jérémy Iglesias (Intrepid / TM). Tony Lavanant (PCR / TM) was 8th, Beitske Visser (Intrepid / TM) found herself 17th on lap 2. Thonon escaped, Lammers led the chasing pack made up of Pex, Iglesias, De Brabander and Convers. Iglesias took Lammers for 3rd. Joel Johansson (Energy / TM) passed Celenta for 6th. A flawless victory for Thonon, Iglesias 2nd, Lammers 3rd, then De Brabander, Johansson and Pex.

A few drops of rain began to fall for the start of the A2 heat. Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex) took the lead, and there were super starts from Arnaud Kozlinki and Mirko Torsellini on CRG / Maxters. But the track was already slippery and the race director put out the red flag.

After subsequent moments of intense action to mount wet tires and make some adjustments in the parc ferme, while the KF3s jostled for space for the same reasons in the starting area. It was epic! Meanwhile, clouds obscured Vesuvius, which is a sign of rain …

Anyway the race was restarted with light rain and a cool breeze. Torsellini was missing. Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) pulled out a big lead over Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex), Joey Hanssen (Lenzo / TM) and Gary Catt (Tony Kart / Vortex) who spun. Davide Fore (CRG / Maxter) was fast and passed Dreezen for 2nd place, followed by Antonio Piccioni (Parolin / TM). It was an imperious victory of Marco Ardigo, 7” ahead of Fore. Piccioni was 3rd, Hanssen 4th, Lundgren 5th, and 6th taken by Gary Carlton (Zanardi / Parilla) within a few lengths of the line.
