Things really got serious in the first pre-final of the U18 World Championship on the circuit of Val d’Argenton. A lot of effort would be given to possible strategies for the second pre-final which will start with a completely reversed starting grid …
Jake Dennis (Top Kart) was followed by Teemu Suninen (Maranello), Sam Snell (Intrepid), Matias Köykkä (Maranello) and John Norris (Intrepid). Adam Stirling (Intrepid) and Leo Roussel (Sodi) collided at the first corner and gave up. Köykkä took 2nd on lap 2 ahead of Snell, Norris, Fraisse, who was soon overtaken by Sathienthirakul. Suninen was only 7th. Dennis was unable to get a gap from Köykkä, 45 / 100 behind.
Sathienthirakul – Top – took 4th to the detriment of Snell and was fastest. Köykkä was now in the lead followed by Top, Dennis in 3rd. Immediately Sathienthirakul authoritatively settled in the lead and flew to victory in front of Köykkä, Dennis, Snell, Forman and Fraïsse in 6th, Baron 7th, Suninen 8th, Riener 9th and Mäntyllä 10th
