Paolo De Conto did what he needed to ensure a second consecutive European title for Energy in KZ2. However, it was not easy at the race weekend at Varennes. The team improved the set-up between the two rounds and De Conto was able to flaunt his talent, moving up from 10th to 2nd place. Following his victory in the WSK Euro Series, he confirmed his form with the European Championship in KZ2.
But the Energy drivers have only gotten stronger by monopolizing the top 3 in the championship: Yan Pesce is now the runner-up while Kevin Leitjens has taken 3rd place.
Beitske Visser (Intrepid / TM) certainly deserved better than her fourth place finish in the light of her outstanding performance at Varennes. She was in a fight for the victory and possibly the title, when Brenna pushed her off the track in race 2. The sanction against the Italian, who finished 2nd, did not restore Beitske to her true level.
