Catt in front of Convers in the Prefinal

There was a duel between Gary Catt and Armand Convers at the start of the prefinal in Super KF. Catt started first, but Convers and De Brabander passed at the first corner. De Brabander and Kozlinski crashed before the end of a lap. Catt was given a warning. Convers was ahead of Catt, Tillett, Camponeschi and Cesetti. Koko retired and De Brabander was 15th. The top 2 were wheel to wheel, more than one second from 3rd. Marco Ardigo was 10th, Nyck De Vries 11th.

Catt looked for an opening on Convers, or was waiting for a mistake from the French driver to pass him. Cesetti took 4th place by passing Camponeschi. De Vries was the fastest in the race. Tillett drove a great race in 3rd position, but Cesetti took it back. De Vries was within touching distance of Ardigo.

Catt took the lead after the halfway point and De Vries passed Ardigo. Tillett was lapping faster than the leader! Convers looked like he meant to attack Catt? Was he waiting for the last lap? Suspense, suspense! De Vries closed on Camponeschi, but the gap seemed too large (1.7 sec). The order didn’t change and Catt (Tony Kart/Vortex) won the race ahead of Convers (Kosmic/Vortex) in a wise second, then came Cesetti (Birel/BMB) and the incredible Laura Tillett (Tony Kart/TM).
