Verstappen takes advantage of Beer

Nicolas Beer was on pole, with Max Verstappen at his side, and the KF3 drivers were nervous under the bright sun at Lonato. Verstappen got to the first corner ahead of Beer, Hoevenaars, ÓKeeffe, Orudzhev, Carlos Gil and Spinelli. Hubert Anthoine had already moved up to 8th, and Ocon Esteban 11th. Roussel lost a lot of time, and was ranked 21st. Deguffroy was no longer running.

On lap 4, Spinelli came back strongly in 5th position, with Hubert in his wake. Ocon passed Albon and Carlos Gil to take 7th. Shortly before mid-race, Verstappen was half a second ahead of Beer and Hoevenaars with his lead at 1.8s at it’s peak, Orudzhev was on his heels. Ocon lost 2 places. The top 5 drivers would soon be joined by another group at high speed, Hubert, Albon and Ocon. Spinelli gave way to Orudzhev in 4th position.

On lap 12, Albon attacked Hubert who was slightly slower now, and Ocon also took the opportunity to pass. Verstappen increased his lead over Beer before the 3 Intrepids of Hoevenaars, Orudzhev and Spinelli. Albon, in 5th, returned to his teammates. Hubert gave more ground. We are heading towards a clear victory for the Netherlands and Verstappen (CRG/Maxter) from Beer (FA Kart/Vortex) and Hoevenaars (Intrepid/TM). Hiltbrand (Kosmic/Vortex) took 7th place ahead of Ocon (Exprit/Vortex) and Hubert (Tony Kart/Vortex). Albon (Intrepid/TM) managed to dislodge Spinelli (Intrepid/TM) for 4th place.
