The first GPO final was a very eventful race. The KZ2 start was very heated … It has to be said that Vincent Gaglione was very (too?) strong, through the first corner in the lead when he started on the fourth row. Unfairly, Thomas Mich lost all his hopes. Anthony Abbasse was not happy either but was not slow to take the lead of the race, even before the end of the lap. Starting from pole, Norman Nato went down to 3rd position, but fell back to 5th place in favour of Morgan Weber and Alban Varutti. Enzo Zéfirini, Mathias Gallepe, Pierre Ragues, Stéphane Lefebvre and Michael Albert were close and formed a lively bunch.

Nato returned to life in 4th position in the wheels tracks of Gaglione. Ragues lost ground, and Gallepe passed Zefirini and Varutti. Nato got round Gaglione on lap 9 and tackled Weber. Gallepe returned to challenge Gaglione. Now second, Nato posted the fastest laps in the race and Abbasse’s lead decreased at high speed. Sensing the danger behind him, he reacted and stabilized the gap.

Abbasse won the first KZ2 final in the GPOs and Nato was a very good second. Gaglione was declassified, so Gallepe moved on to the 3rd step of the podium.
