Finnish driver Aaro Vainio (Maranello-Maxter), from the Maranello factory, brilliantly won the final and the 2008 European title before Joni Wiman, also of Finland at Maranello. The Russian-Italian Danil Kvyat, on his 1st race with an FA Kart / Vortex, was the 3rd placed driver. Tanguy Carel was the best French representative, running for a long time in 4th place, bringing his Sodikart prepared by Braun Racing home to an incredible 6th final position.

The race had not started well and the first corner destroyed the hopes of a few favorites in a big crash. Brandon Maïsano was one of them and was now very far away from the lead. The yellow flags and slow signs came out. Da Luz held the lead ahead of the slowed field but it was Kvyat who took instant command before being taken by Vainio. Wiman was not far off and Carel clung to his 4th position. Maïsano, in 19th, was all but out of the race, but attacked anyway, posting the fastest lap in the race before retiring shortly after De Ridder.

Wiman attacked Vainio, who responded immediately. On the last lap, the duel resumed with a vengeance. Vainio perfectly managed his slight advantage and won a deserved European Championship. Michael Heche rebounded best, coming from 33rd to 8th place with the fastest lap in the race.
