Nato wins the first KZ1 heat

A great qualifying heat for KZ1, A vs. C. Alessandro Manetti started on pole but found himself spun around after he slowed in turn one and was pushed by Norman Nato who was on his bumper. There were many attacks down the field, with Bas Lammers on the grass without losing time.

Nato-M1.jpgNato had already got away from Arjan Kievitsbosch by several lengths. It was Andrea Benedetti who took the lead in the chasing group that included Verdi Guerts, Pierre Ragues and Michele Lenzo. Alessandro Piccini moved from 17th to 14th ahead of Manetti. Bas Lammers was also making a comeback – from eighth he moved into sixth and on the third lap took the very fast Ragues. Kevin Cuoco was in tenth position, Manuel Cozzaglio 11th and Laudato 12th.

Comfortably in the lead, Nato was more than two seconds ahead at half-distance. Lammers was now fifth, soon to attack Guerts then Benedetti. Piccini passed Ragues, followed by Simo Puhakka. Manetti reached 12th, while Cozzaglio and Laudato finished seventh and eighth. On the last lap, Lammers attacked Benedetti, but failed and ended up fifth on the line.

Victory for Norman Nato ahead of Arjan Kievitsbosch and Andrea Benedetti.
