Lacaze champion?

Rain has covered the Varennes region, making racing difficult for everyone. The Kf2 Final was likely to be decisive for the French Championship.

Podium-KF2.jpgRobin Frijns started first, overcoming Charles Lacaze but Robin span on the second lap. As expected, Lacaze took control of the race. Kenny Vermeylen followed before also spinning spectacularly. Guillaume Barbarin took over second, followed by William Benedetti and Loic Reguillon.

In the second group, Sebastien Bailly dominated Dane Smith, Julien Deschamps, Paul-Loup Chatin, Michael Albert and the recovering Frijns. Barabarin came close to Lacaze and Bailly held off Reguiillon who was overtaking rapidly. Kevin Mourey was 12th and dropping back after a water problem. Barbarin  overtook Lacaze who didn’t offer too much reistance.

Barbarin widened the gap and Frijns recovered although only to seventh, leaving Lacaze to take enough points to win the title, barring exceptional circumstances. Benedetti finished third, Bailly fourth ahead of Reguillon and Deschamps.
