Anneville – Event 2 – Presentation

Manuel-Cuadriello.jpgTwo weeks after the inaugural event of the Championship at Le Mans, the kartmen of the Auto Sport Academy will take part in the second meeting on the Anneville’s track (76). At the head of the general classification, Manuel Cuadriello for his second participation in the Championship will do his best to comfort his position and win his first round of the season… However the Mexican is aware that it will not be that easy this year as the competitors seem to be as talented as last year!

The Mexican Juan Piedrahita and François Horel who is participating in the Formula Kart for the second time, won respectively the pre-final and the final of the first round of the Championship. Third in the classification, Juan Piedrahita will endeavour to forget his misfortune during the Le Mans final (he lost his silencer while he was about to win his second race) and make up the time he lost. As for François Horel, he knows that he has potentially used up one of his two jokers (count up of the two poorest results for the final classification). He will redouble his efforts to appear among the leaders.

Thanks to his consistency, the Swiss Sammy Wasem has proved to be the direct opponent of the leader of the Championship. Both will endeavour to confirm their position. Though they have held a leading role in the first meeting, they must confirm in winning the next race to maintain their leading position. François Surut, other major actor of the Championship, has proved to be effective since he won the pole position at Le Mans, his home town and finished third in the final.

This first race at Le Mans has enabled some drivers to assert themselves in the ranks of the Formula Kart. The quatuor formed by Alexandre Cougnaud, the Mexican Milburgo Palomino, Maxime Menu, novice in karting and Anthony Micoud has gained more or less the same number of points. This group seems to have found a place in the pack. It could appear in the leading group sooner than we might think. This quatuor had better keep watch on the following drivers who are probably more experienced.

Indeed, Paul Thénot and Guillaume Vétu both are at equal points for their second participation to the Championship. They have not been able to express their talent in the first meeting. It will be for another time and the competitors will have to keep an eye on Guillaume Vétu since he will be running on his native and home land: Seine Maritime. He will be keen to show his talent to his public. We should not forget Marie Baus-Coppens whose progress was noticed at Le Mans. Though she set the 4th time at the qualifying session, the mechanics failed her during the pre-final. She was consoled for her misfortune as she obtained the points of the 9th position in the final.

As for the rest of the troop, they will apply to climbing further up the hierarchy, notably the German-Mexican Christofer Berckhan whose results at Le Mans were very far from the performance of the winter practice sessions and Nicolas Pux who has not been able to show his capacities on the Le Mans track because of mechanical hitch.
