Energy and Johansson: Stars in KF2
Energy-Fly Kart was undoubtedly one of the most remarkable teams at Salbris, on 25 and 26 July. First of all in the paddock, with a structure well-known for its perfect presentation and its great professionalism, but mostly on track, with drivers who show, race after race, their competitiveness as well as that of their equipment, prepared with great care.

Energy and Johansson: Stars in KF2

Among them, Swedish Joel Johansson was the man of the day in KF2. After conquering the pole position, he had to face a group of very determined rivals, led by Cooper, the WSK leader. But in the final phase, Johansson undoubtedly made the difference. “When we see the great work made by the team, we feel even more motivated to win”, the Swedish driver commented. “After gaining three heats, I was especially happy about what happened in the pre-final. I set the best time in lap and I won with an excellent advantage”. Competition in the final was even more aggressive, but Johansson defended the race leadership until the end.
His team mate Mans Grenhagen improved his ranking by 31 places, from timed qualifiers and his 8th place in final. As for Russian Yuri Grigorenko, who defended Red Bull’s colours and who has recently joined the Energy-Fly Kart Team, he showed his best international performance ever by finishing 7th in timed qualifiers, 8th at the end of the heats and 12th in the pre-final.
Energy colours shone bright in KZ2, first of all at the beginning of the weekend, with British driver Jack Hawksworth, then with Paolo De Conto. Alberto Tonti, one of the team managers, was very satisfied. “Paolo has not the experience of the best specialists in this category, who compete in CIK/FIA KZ1 races, but that did not prevent him from reaching the fourth place, ahead of drivers like Forè, Lammers, Dreezen and Renaudie”. Faster than these drivers at that moment of the race, unfortunately he lost several places after a collision in the final.

“The Salbris track layout has many turns and therefore it is difficult to memorize. Well done to Joel Johansson who led his Energy-TM with great talent to the first place in KF2, where competition was very hard! I would also like to thank the whole technical team, from mechanics to tuners, for their know-how, which allowed the Energy-Fly Kart racing stable to win several races over the last few years, but also during this season, in WSK, at the German Championship and at the Andrea Margutti Trophy, just to mention a few”.

Double Victory for Energy in France

Energy importer to France, MP Racing Kart Team received the Best Pro Cup for its excellent overall results at the KART mag Trophy at Varennes sur Allier, the biggest European event of the season in terms of entrants, with 311 drivers. On 19 July, the Energy chassis gained a double victory in KZ with Yan Pesce and Pierre-Etienne Chaumat.
