Being an experienced driver, with an enviable palmarès that includes, in particular, a European title, Jean-Philippe Guignet has decided to exploit his many competences in karting and car racing to create LP Management. Thanks to his experience and personality, Jean-Philippe adds some new elements to the management of drivers, an activity now very in fashion, where the best sometimes rub shoulders with the worst.

Jean Philippe Guignet, a New Kind of Manager

Jean-Philippe Guignet’s approach is an original one, given the set of skills that he masters. Of course, pure driving has been part of his top-level driver’s life for a long time. When it comes to trajectories or racing strategies, he knows what he’s talking about, no doubt about it. But Jean-Philippe also knows that in order to win, other skills are needed, first of all – and undoubtedly – motivation. The world of karting is full of drivers who can be very fast on a single lap or race, but who never win throughout their careers because they are left to themselves. Jean-Philippe is demanding with himself but also with his drivers, because he wants to stimulate them to deliver the best of their talent. He only plans his work over the long period and a full season is the minimum required to ensure real progress.

Before competitions, physical training and a good diet are part of LP Management drivers programme, to allow them to approach the track at the top of their shape. Future champions are seen as fully-fledged athletes and are followed outside competitions as well. During races, Jean-Philippe is there to stimulate the mental capacities of his drivers and help them develop their motivation, as well as to eliminate anything that could distract them from their goal. The mental aspect of training is a priority, as well as driving techniques and adjustments, which are often performed through telemetry.

Am accomplished coach, Jean-Philippe also deals with the choice of the team as well as relations with its members, in addition to managing communication, so that his drivers can benefit from his reputation and his contacts in a field where everybody knows his straightforwardness! To parents who wish to give their children real chances of success in a very demanding discipline, LP Management offers a complete solution, to avoid the inevitable waste of time and money when one first approaches karting.

2009 marks the official debut of LP Management in national and international competition. Progresses made by John Filippi since the beginning of the season are already staggering. Despite his lack of experience, this young Corsican driver is beginning to show some nice performances in an important KF3 team, that of importer Tony Kart France. 20th at his first GPO at Angerville, Filippi was already fighting in the top 10 at the Mariembourg GPO. Even stronger, he brilliantly qualified for the European championship at the chaotic Angerville round, fighting without complexes against very experienced international drivers.

Jean-Philippe is also the coach of Dorian Boccolacci (from Var), who races in Mini in the FRT Compétition Team. He is a fast driver with a nice driving touch and a lot of passion, so he needs to develop regularity. He could have won a final at the Trophée de France at Angerville, but rain was fatal to him. He caught up the following day, with a third place. Dorian has very good potential that just needs developing.

LP Management continues its development on the basis of ongoing projects, in particular from a communication point of view, but does not aim at training a high number of drivers. For the time being, Jean-Philippe Guignet is thinking of a maximum of 5-6 drivers, to ensure the best possible training.
