Energy Dominates at Mariembourg
Energy Corse official team continues to collect excellent results and victories. After winning at Angerville on the European Championship debut, Tony Lavanant repeated his success during the second round at Mariembourg. His team mate Mathias Gallepe has also shown his remarkable qualities over the last few weeks. Winner of French Cup 125 Long Circuit, he conquered his first European podium in Belgium. The two Energy pilots now occupy the 2nd and 3rd place in the Championship provisional ranking !

Energy Dominates at Mariembourg

On 28 and 29 June, French Tony Lavanant really dominated the KZ2 category. Although he did not reach the pole position, which was conquered by another Energy pilot (Kevin Jansen), Lavanant took the lead during the qualifying heats, by winning four heats out of five. Then Tony dominated the two final races. He crossed the finishing line the first time with a 4-second advantage and a second time with almost 3 seconds!
“My equipment was perfect throughout the weekend”, the Energy pilot remarked. “The chassis was really effective, the engine was extremely performing and I could easily control the two races. Now we must focus on the title, because I lost some points after I was penalised by 10 seconds in Race 2. I did not have an early start, but I only moved slightly before the lights went off so commissioners thought I had made a mistake. Therefore I was penalised from 1st to 9th place”. Lavanant had to content himself with just one victory in Belgium, but after conquering two best laps in the two finals, Lavanant and the Energy Team clearly showed their superiority.

Gallepe on the Podium
Lavanant’s team mate Mathias Gallepe was never very far from his compatriot in the leading pack. The French driver never left top 3 in all his heats and managed to keep a very high pace in the two finals. One of the few pilots to cross the 57 second threshold in Race 1, he was rewarded for his efforts by reaching 3rd place. “I was looking forward to reaching this podium in the European Championship and now I am really happy” Mathias rejoiced. “The chassis helped me a lot, it was really fast and reliable, regardless of the tyre wear level”. 4th in Race 2, the Energy pilot showed a superb performance in the Championship by ranking third!

French Victory
Before the brilliant results on the international stage at Mariembourg, Mathias Gallepe raced in the first round of the French Cup 125cc Long Circuit. On the fast Carole circuit, where all the best French pilots dream of adding their names to the list of winners, the Energy chassis driven by Mathias did not go unnoticed in the final. “The equipment effectiveness quickly made me feel more confident and even if a collision in the pre-final pushed me back behind 20th place in the starting grid, in the final, I felt I had some winning chances”, the French pilot commented. Indeed, Mathias quickly reached the best pilots and then took the lead of the pack. Race end did not cause any problem to Mathias, who imposed himself brilliantly.

Energy Wins in KF2
After winning in KZ2, the Energy brand also conquered the Viking Trophy in KF2. On 15 June at Lapeenranta, in Finland, Joël Johansson run alone towards victory. “We knew that our chassis works equally well in the KZ and KF categories and it is great that also Johansson achieved important results”, Michele Panigada, Energy Team Manager commented. After showing his remarkable qualities in WSK (5th in the final at Lonato, 4th in the pre-final at Mariembourg), the Swedish pilot unfortunately failed in a heat. But he managed to climb from 11th to 3rd place in the pre-final, before crossing the finishing line with an advantage of almost six seconds and setting the best time in the two races of the final phase. Russian Mikhail Mitrokhin went from 19th to 4th place and thus added the final touch to the successful performance of Energy chassis.
