Two more victories in the German Championship and new top international performances have been added to the already long list of achievements of AVG Racing Team over the last few weeks. The second part of 2010 season seems to be starting under the best auspices for PCR importer to the Netherlands.

Team-AVG.jpgGold is not just the colour of the wonderful decoration of AVG Racing team’s PCR. It is also the colour of the medals that AVG Racing driver Manuel Renaudie continues to collect in the highly reputed German Championship. After his victory in the second final in Kerpen, he clearly dominated the Oschersleben meeting held on the last weekend of May: pole position, then a series of consecutive victories in the two heats, in the sprint race and in the long final race! “We were very competitive there”, Manuel confirmed. “My equipment was perfect – especially the engine – on this fast circuit. It was a great team victory”.

Competition was again very tough on 19 and 20 June, in Wackersdorf but Renaudie kept his momentum. “If I had not suffered a mechanical problem in the sprint race, I would have lived another perfect weekend. I conquered the pole position again and I won the two heats, before I concluded one the most beautiful finals since I started racing”. Indeed, the AVG Racing team driver had to start from the last row and even took the liberty to overtake his opponents and cross the finish line as winner, going almost 3/10ths faster than his rivals. “I was the only driver who went below the limit of 48 seconds. There are many bends, all different, in Wackersdorf and my PCR chassis played again a decisive role”. Renaudie and AVG are solidly in the lead of the Championship, now that there two meetings to go. Renaudie’s team mates in KZ2, Dylan Davies, Tyler Wheeler and Menno, also had the opportunity to show what they are capable of on German soil, both in Oschersleben and in Wackersdorf.

A Positive Outcome in Europe

The European KZ1 Championship and the WSK Euro Series ended in June and the AVG Racing Team can be very satisfied with results achieved. “Manuel Renaudie has been often in leading places, both in the WSK in Sarno as well as in the European Championship in Varennes sur Allier”, team manager Anton Van Grunsven commented. “Each time we battled against factory teams and the best international drivers. We brilliantly defended PCR colours and demonstrated our ability at the highest level”.

In Italy, Renaudie reached the pole position, won one heat and finished third in the pre-final and fourth in the final. These new points allowed AVG Racing to rank 5th in the Eurocup (teams classification) and Renaudie to finish 6th. A result that he even improved in the European Championship, with his 4th place in the general standings. “Our work is proving fruitful, it is really encouraging. Since the beginning of the season, we have been engaged in several races and we did not have time to take some extra tests. Now the calendar will be less busy and we are going to intensify tests to get ready for the end of the season, in particular for the KZ1 World Cup”, Manu concluded.
