The Angerville GPO, second meeting of the French Karting Championship 2010, has quite a few strong points on its side for a sporting event of excellent level on 18, 19 and 20 June. Located in the Paris region, the Angerville circuit occupies a special place in the heart of fans, who still have vivid memories of the World Championship held on this track in 2006. The list of entered drivers shows that interest is boosting after the inauguration round in Varennes sur Allier: a group of Belgian drivers will join the GPO Circus, enough to sow concern in the standings of the Championship and render races even more exciting.

The FFSA won its wager when it retook control of the GPO organisation this season. The Varennes GPO showed that France could organise an international event both spectacular and pleasant in a framework worthy of major events. Angerville will live up to the same standard of quality and will host the first French Cup Rotax Max, a popular category in France, in addition to the KF2, KF3 and KZ2 categories.

From a sporting point of view, the French Championship experience positive momentum, with its first leaders and several drivers on their heels, eager for revenge. All the conditions are there for intense fight. In the lead of the KF2 standings, Vincent Fraïsse (Intrepid/TM) will have to watch out for Enzo Guibbert’s comeback (FA Kart), one of the best French drivers at international level. Very unlucky in Varennes, Pascal Belmaaziz (Intrepid/TM) will go to Angerville more motivated than ever. Third in the standings, an experienced driver like Clément Bluy (Tony Kart/Vortex) has some good cards to play in France. His team mate Victor Sendin is now on an ascending trend. Belgian Denis Dupont (Tony Kart/Vortex) will face his compatriot Julien Lefort (CRG/Maxter) from VDK team and will have Danish Michelle Gatting (CRG/Maxter) – who has very high potential – as his reference point.

In KF3, the Gasly/Hubert duel will keep the fans in suspense. Piere Gasly (Sodi/Parilla) is determined to store away some more heavy points to consolidate his leadership position, but valiant Anthoine Hubert (Tony Kart/Vortex) will harness all his talent and determination to dislodge his rival from first place. This fight at the top will also be populated by other fast drivers such as Valentin Moineault (Merlin/Parilla), Enzo Marchetti and Léo Roussel (Sodi/Parilla), Rémy Deguffroy (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Charles Leclerc, with his new Sodi/Parilla equipment.

ABBASSE-KZ2.jpgAnthony Abbasse (Sodi/TM) might find Jérémy Iglesias (Intrepid/TM) on his way to the KZ2 title, but skilled drivers such as Yan Pesce (Energy/TM) and Yannick Savard (CRG/Maxter) will also be there to question his supremacy on track, while Mathias Gallepe (Sodi/Maxter), Julien Goupy (Energy/TM), and Pierre Etienne Chaumat (Intrepid/TM) will not content themselves with walk-on parts.

About fifty drivers are expected for the first French Cup Rotax Max. Jules Cousin (FA Kart), Antoine Lepesqueux (Tony Kart), Christophe Duport (V-Max), Nicolas Gonzalès (Mirage) are some of the favourites, but the battle could include several other drivers.

The FFSA now offers an easy, secure and fast online payment service for registrations. Registration to the GPOs, for the whole season or for a single race, is now a very simple and totally secure operation, which can be carried out from any PC in a few clicks, in the «GPO registration» area of the Web site gpokarting.com.
