Monteiro the OK poleman in Slovakia

The 69 drivers competing in the FIA Karting European Championship – OK enjoyed excellent conditions for their three timed sessions at the Slovakia Ring on Friday afternoon. For the first time this season, the temperature rose above 30°. Only the second half of the six minute sessions were used.

Session 1: Nilsson – 50”221
Leo Nilsson (KR/Iame) was in the lead on the second lap, followed by Zac Dummond (Parolin/TM) and Vegard Klemetsen (KR/Iame). Nilsson was still leading on lap 3 in 50’221, 22 thousandths ahead of Jimmy Hélias (KR/Iame). Dmitry Matveev (KR/Iame) was 3rd at 67 thousandths, followed by Matheus Morgatto (Birel ART/TM) 4th at one tenth and Miguel Costa (Parolin/TM) 5th. Joe Turney (KR/Iame) finished 6th, 2 tenths behind Drummond in 7th. Philippe Karras (LN/Iame) was 16th and Tom Dussol (CRG/Iame) 17th.

Session 2: Monteiro – 50’215
Noah Monteiro (KR/Iame) was already closing in on provisional pole position on his session lap. He improved his time on his third lap to 50’215, while Louis Iglesias (CRG/Iame) followed him by less than a tenth on his 4th lap. Kaï Rillaerts (Sodi/TM) took 3rd place 0.144” ahead of Salim Hanna (KR/Iame) and David Cosma Cristofor (KR/Iame) in 5th place. Oleksander Bondarev (KR/Iame) finished 7th, Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame) 8th, Jindrich Pesl (KR/Iame) 9th and Andrea Dupé (KR/Iame) 10th. Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) was 14th and Jean Karras (LN/Iame) 21st.

Session 3: Ramaekers – 50”300
Scott Lindblom (KR/Iame) was ahead of Thibaut Ramaekers (KR/Iame) on the second lap. Ramaekers remained in the lead after 3 laps with a time of 50’300, with Lindblom just 2 thousandths behind him. Noah Wolfe (Birel ART/TM) finished 3rd, 92 thousandths ahead of Lewis Francis (KR/Iame) and Stylianos Kolovos (KR/Iame). Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM) was 6th and Fionn Mclaughlin (KR/Iame) 7th. David Walther (OTK/Vortex) was only 20th, 8 tenths back.
