OK: Bondarev dominates to the end in Lonato

Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame) started in the lead, followed at a distance by his team-mate Salim Hanna (KR/Iame), while Sebastiano Pavan (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 3rd on the first lap. Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin/TM), Gerasim Skulanov (KR/Iame) and Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) did not complete a lap. Pavan immediately rejoined P2 to try and chase down Bondarev, a second ahead. Kai Rillaerts (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 4th, followed by Ean Eyckmans (Birel ART/TM) and Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM). Bondarev continued to increase his lead over Pavan, who was nevertheless very fast. Hanna couldn’t keep up with the pace of the two frontrunners. Eyckmans and Rillaerts overtook Wherrell, who was soon back on track. In 7th place, David Cosma Cristofor (KR/Iame) was putting in some very fast laps. In 9th place, Zac Drummond (Parolin/TM) had made up 20 places by the halfway point. Pavan was moving up a gear from lap 15 onwards and closed the gap on Bondarev, while Eyckmans was closing on Hanna. The outcome of the race remained undecided with two laps to go. However, Bondarev seemed to have the necessary resources to resist. He won the race 6 tenths ahead of the excellent Pavan. Eyckmans made it through to P3 ahead of Hanna. Wherrell, who set the fastest lap, was 5th, followed by Cosma Cristofor, Drummond and Rillaerts. Thomas Quincé (Tony Kart/Vortex) finished 21st.
