Van Langendonck scores a superb OK-Junior Final victory in Cremona

The OK-Junior Final of the fourth round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series at Cremona took place under mostly blue skies and temperatures of 30°C, with 21 laps on the programme.

Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame) held on to 1st place against Niklas Schaufler (KR/Iame) on the first lap, while seven drivers, including Andy Consani (Parolin/TM), were involved in a collision. Dries Van Langendonck (Exprit/TM) moved up to 2nd, with Iacopo Martinese (KR/Iame) back in 4th, ahead of Taym Saleh (KR/Iame), Thibaut Ramaekers (KR/Iame) and Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM). The latter then fell back to 13th behind Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM). Stepan Antonov (KR/Iame) reached 6th position ahead of Schaufler who managed to stay in the race after the attack. Bondarev had a lead of 5 tenths over van Langendonck who was closing in. Martinese was 3rd by 9 tenths, then Ramaekers 4th at one second with Saleh in his wake. Antonov was the fastest at the halfway stage. Zac Dummond (Parolin/TM) had made up 10 places in 9th position before Wherrell overtook him. Van Langendonck came back to within 2 tenths of the leader on lap 13. The attack came on lap 16. Van Langendonck led with a 5-tenths advantage over Bondarev, but Martinese attacked Bondarev to take 2nd place. In 4th place Ramaekers closed the gap on Bondarev. After a superb race, Van Langendonck won 9 tenths ahead of Martinese. Bondarev managed to hold on to 3rd place ahead of Ramaekers and Antonov.
