Kanthan takes a surprise lead in the Junior heats at Rødby

Vivek Kanthan (Parolin/TM) gradually built up his strength to take the lead in the Qualifying Heats of Round 3 of the Champions of the Future Euro Series in Rødby. The American finished with two wins, which is a very positive result from his 10th place in Qualifying. Poleman Zac Drummond (Parolin/TM) also scored two wins to hold onto 2nd place behind his team-mate. Iacopo Martinese (KR/Iame) finished 3rd with a win to his name, as did Alfie Slater (LN/TM) who confirmed his good form. Scott Lindblom (Tony Kart/Vortex) moved up from 27th to 5th place ahead of Matias Orjuela (Birel ART/TM) and Jack Illife (Parolin/TM), who was still on the pace. In 8th position, Oliver Kinmark (Tony Kart/Vortex) had managed to make up 10 places ahead of Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM), who was delayed by a retirement. Stepan Antonov (KR/Iame) had made up 11 places to complete the top 10 ahead of Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame) and Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM), who had to retire. Andy Consani (Parolin/TM) was the top Frenchman in 17th place (+3 pl). Louis Cochet (Sodi/TM) lost the benefit of his excellent performances in the last heat, forced to retire because of an inappropriate manoeuvre by Klara Kowalczyk (CRG/TM). Thomas Quincé (Tony Kart/Vortex) was trying to find his bearings for his return to OK-Junior. The competition came to a premature end for Maël Le Marchand (Kosmic/Vortex) 82nd and Lisa Billard (Exprit/Vortex) 88th.
