Nine Frenchmen in the race this weekend in Trinec

The second round of the FIA Karting European Championship – OK & Junior is taking place in the Czech Republic on the Trinec circuit with 93 OK and 95 OK-Junior drivers entered, which is more than in Valencia at the opening round. The higher number of wild cards largely explains this increase, especially as Russian drivers are no longer allowed to enter the country as was possible when the event was chosen. The FIA Karting Academy Trophy has 45 entries for its first event.

Champions of the Future, which took place in Trinec a fortnight ago, gave an overview of the drivers who are comfortable on this particular track, but we can expect some surprises in the results of this FIA Karting event. The weather forecast seems to predict humidity under a grey sky with rain expected on Saturday and Sunday.

The French delegation includes the eight drivers already racing in Valencia. The only change is that Jimmy Hélias has left his Tony Kart/Vortex of the Ward Racing team for a CRG/Iame from the official CRG team. Lisa Billard will take up the international challenge by participating in the first event of the Academy Trophy on a one-design Exprit/Vortex that she knows well.
