Wherrell OK-Junior: clear run to the Final

The undisputed leader in OK-Junior since the start of the WSK Champions Cup in Lonato, Lewis Wherrell (Exprit/TM) was of course the poleman of the Final alongside Dries van Langendonck (Energy/TM), who was less at his best than in Prefinal B. Filippo Sala (Sodi/TM) shared the second row with Oleksandr Bondarev (KR/Iame).

Wherell was leading at the start followed by Sala, Van Langendonck was 3rd, Bondarev 4th and Lev Krutogolov (Tony Kart/Iame) 5th. Niklas Schaufler (KR/Iame) in 6th had passed Taym Saleh (KR/Iame). Bondarev and Van Langendonck lost places, Krutogolov was 3rd and Schaufler 4th ahead of Iacopo Martinese (KR/Iame). David Cosma Cristofor (KR/Iame) had moved up 12 places to 7th position. Sala dropped back to 6th after a missed opportunity on the leader. At the halfway point, Wherrell had a lead of over 7 tenths over Bondarev. Behind Schaufler and Martinese, Luna Fluxa Cross (KR/Iame) was 5th, having gained five positions. Stepan Antonov (KR/Iame) had a particularly fast lap and moved up from 6th to 5th place. Wherrell increased his lead considerably. Behind him, the battle was intense in the chasing group led by Schaufler and Martinese. Wherrell concluded his faultless race with a superb Final victory more than 2”ahead of Schaufler. Saleh was 3rd, Fluxa 4th with a gain of six places, then Sala in 5th.
