Portimão: Louveau starts with DD2 Master pole

The 36 DD2 Masters on their Praga chassis finished the day with their Qualifying session. The track was forecasted to be dry, but rain tyres were preferred. Denis Thum (GER) led the first lap ahead of Antti Ollikainen (FIN) and Fernando Guzzi (BRA), two of the RMCGF legends. Thum improved, followed by Paul Louveau (FRA) and Kristaps Gasparovics (LVA). Then Louveau took the lead ahead of Martin Konopka (SVK). The times progressed with each lap. Guzzi moved up to P1 ahead of Konopka and Gasparovics. Derek Wang (USA) was 5th ahead of Louveau. Paul took over the lead thanks to an excellent second sector with a time of 1’12”567, synonymous with pole position. Konopka followed at 0,270”, Guzzzi 3rd by 4 tenths, then Gasparovics 4th and Claudio Pagliarani (ITA) 5th. Vivie Cussac-Picot (FRA) finished 12th and Charles Seguin (FRA) 20th.
