OK-Junior Super Heats: Tye and Bouzar win

Sunday morning, the weather was clear in Zuera for the Super Heats of the second round of the OK-Junior European Championship with 18° on the thermometer.

Super Heat A: Tye
Arthur Dorison (Tony Kart/Vortex) took a small lead over Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM) at the start. Lenn Nijs (KR/Iame), Maciej Gladysz (LN/Vortex) and Zac Drummond (Parolin/TM) followed in the top five. Lucas Fluxa Cross (KR/Iame) came back to 5th position and attacked Drummond. Tye closed in on Dorison with several fastest laps and passed him on the seventh of nine laps. The duel continued with several passes which allowed Gladysz to get closer. Tye managed to control Dorison on the last lap and won, Gladysz finished 3rd by 88 thousandths. Tiziano Monza (KR/Iame) moved up 14 places to 4th ahead of Fluxa Cross with Drummond 6th. Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 19th and Thomas Quincé (Tony Kart/Vortex) 23rd. Seven drivers did not finish.

Super Heat B: Bouzar
Following his accident the day before, Oleksandr Bondarev (LN/Vortex) was one of the three drivers not to start. Guillaume Bouzar (Tony Kart/Vortex) remained in the lead on the first lap ahead of Maxens Verbrugge (KR/Iame), Enzo Tarnvanichkul (Tony Kart/Vortex), René Lammers (Parolin/TM) and Jules Caranta (Energy/TM). Andres Cardenas (Energy/TM) had to retire. Caranta set the fastest time, passed Lammers and attacked Tarnvanichkul on the fourth lap for 3rd place. Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) crashed at the back of the pack and then retired. Caranta soon passed Verbrugge for 2nd place. Kirill Kutskov (Birel ART/TM) was 4th ahead of Lammers while Dmitry Matveev (Tony Kart/Vortex) came back to 7th and then 5th. Bouzar secured the victory 5 tenths ahead of Caranta. Lammers overtook Verbrugge in the last lap and Kutskov completed the top five.
