Portimão: Tye leads OK-Junior heats with Sodi in Champions of the Future

The 15 OK-Junior Qualifying Heats of Champions of the Future in Portimao have given their verdict. Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM), who started 12th, took the lead on Saturday evening with four wins and a 2nd place. Poleman Oleksandr Bondarev (LN/Vortex) followed in 2nd place with three wins, while Guillaume Bouzar (Tony Kart/Vortex) climbed back into the top three with his two wins.

The gaps then widen with Thomas Strauven (LN/Vortex) 4th and Lucas Fluxa Cross (KR/Iame) 5th on equal points. Tiziano Monza (KR/Iame) remained in the hunt in 6th position ahead of Andres Cardenas (Energy/TM), Dmitry Matveev (Tony Kart/Vortex) in 8th, Krill Dzitiev (Tony Kart/Vortex) 9th and Maciej Gladysz (LN/Vortex) 10th. Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) was 12th behind René Lammers (Parolin/TM), followed by his team mate Louis Leveau (Sodi/TM).

Maxens Verbrugge (Exprit/TM) finished a modest 24th despite two good top sixes. Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart/Vortex) had recovered 13 places to 26th, Arthur Dorison (Tony Kart/Vortex) 11 places to 40th, Thomas Quincé (Tony Kart/TM) 43rd and Jules Caranta (Energy/TM) 44th were on the right track.
