Riche dominates to the end in DD2 Masters

The front row of the 2021 RMCGF DD2 Masters in Bahrain was 100% French with Morgan Riche (FRA) and Paul Louveau (FRA), while Pier-Luc Ouellette (CAN) and Michael Hitchcock (CHE) followed on the second row.

Although Riche started perfectly, Louveau was not so lucky and found himself in 5th position. Ouellette was second ahead of Henrijs Grube (LVA) and Joao Cunha (BRA). Riche tried to get away from Ouellette, but it wasn’t easy, Grube was 3rd by 1,1” and Louveau was 4th by 3 tenths. The leading duo escaped, Riche and Ouellette were very fast lap after lap. Louveau took 3rd position on the 9th lap, at the head of a tight group of 5 drivers, 3,5” behind the leaders. After half of the race, the lead of the leader Riche exceeded 5 tenths. Cunha recovered 3rd place against Louveau, who replied on the following lap. In 12th position, Christophe Adams (NLD) had taken the advantage over Christophe Capitaine (FRA) while Mohamed Matar (BHR) came back strongly from last position on the grid. Riche continued to increase his lead over Ouellette. Louveau had to adopt a defensive strategy at times. Riche won magnificently 1.7″ ahead of Ouellette, Louveau kept 3rd place on the track at 8″ back but dropped back to 11th in the standings because of a penalty. Cunha took 3rd place ahead of Daniel Schollenberger (DEU) and Grube. Matar finished 10th with a 26-position improvement. Adams finished 12th and Capitaine 14th.
