Thum in DD2 Masters and Barbaroux in DD2 take pole at Le Mans

The 21 DD2 Masters entered the track before the DD2s and took advantage of the entire 1384 m length of the Le Mans circuit for their Rotax MAX International Trophy Qualifying. Denis Thum (Tony Kart) and Vivien Cussac-Picot (Tony Kart) were battling it out by thousandths of a second ahead of Tamsin Germain (Exprit). Thum remained the poleman by 3 thousandths on 52”887 against Cussac-Picot. Germain followed in 3rd place at 24 thousandths ahead of Carl Cleirbaut (Exprit) and Paul Louveau (Redspeed) at 86 thousandths. In 6th, Rudy Champion (Kosmic) was 2 tenths behind.

The best DD2 drivers were already on 52’200 on their second lap. Antoine Barbaroux (Birel ART) progressed to 52”132 on his third lap and was 69 thousandths ahead of Daniel Machacek (KR). Kacper Bielecki (Tony Kart) and Dawid Maslakiewicz (Tony Kart) followed by a tenth while Alexis Coursault (Birel ART) finished 5th by 0,240”. Nicolas Picot (Tony Kart) was 7th and Maxime Marion (FA Kart) 10th by 4 tenths.
