Early season interview with Paul Bizalion – CPB Sport

As the 2020 season is about to begin, with the major event of the Winter Cup at Lonato, the French team CPB Sport has elevated goals in national and international competition. Specialising in KZ2, Paul Bizalion’s team has worked hard during the off-season to tackle the opening races with the maximum chance of continuing to enable its drivers shine at the top.

Paul Bizalion, how does 2020 look for the CPB Sport team?

After an almost perfect 2019 season, we approach this new year of competition with a lot of humility and the determination to remain one of the leading teams in KZ2 at international level. I would first of all like to pay tribute to Émilien Denner for his world title in KZ2. We wish him all the success he deserves in his new single-seater career.

For this new year, we have a strong team of talented drivers and our objectives are still to win FIA Karting competitions in the KZ2 category. The opening races like the Winter Cup are always the most difficult, as they pit us against the professional KZ drivers, but we have assets in hand and, as usual, we will do our utmost to help the majority of our drivers reach the Finals.

Can you tell us about your 2020 formation?

We are still in discussion with one or two top drivers, but we already have a quality line up with drivers capable of winning in all track conditions.

Jean Nomblot, Lorenzo Giannoni and Hubert Petit will be the benchmark drivers for the team given their experience, but the youngsters are pushing behind them with very fast drivers who now need to acquire the necessary experience, such as Nikita Artamonov, Slavik Putiatin, Artem Kosarev and Valentino Fritsch who also have solid ambitions.

Daniel Lindholm renews his confidence in us as well as a newcomer to KZ2, Lev Lomko, two drivers to follow at the beginning of the season.

Arthur Carbonnel and Jovan Pavicevic intend to progress well this year with a quality programme and confirm their potential with the highlight of the World KZ2 Championship at Le Mans where we hope to keep the title we won in 2019.

Damien Vallar, the gentleman driver, joins the team for a particularly exciting challenge and with big ambitions for the French races, as well as international races with participation in all the FIA Karting competitions.

Will the partnership with Sodikart be strengthened in 2020?

Sodikart is more than ever our partner and we wish to make this collaboration a long-lasting one. The factory has trusted us with the important task of representing the French brand in the KZ2 category and gives us everything we need to succeed. We are going to do everything we can to live up to this ambitious project during the new season, which promises to be exciting.
