DD2 Master : nice victory for Champion in Prefinal A

The heat was starting to get heavy in Sarno for the DD2 Master Prefinal of the 2019 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. Henrijs Grube (LVA) took the lead ahead of Anti Ollikainen (FIN) and Rudy Champion (FRA), who soon moved into 2nd place ahead of Rodrigo Eckholt (CHI). Champion completed a series of fastest laps and put the leader under pressure. He took the advantage on Grube halfway through the race, meanwhile Troy Bretherton (AUS) had overtaken Ollikainen for 3rd. The battle was very close between the top four. Champion managed this stressful situation perfectly and won 47 thousandths ahead of Grube, with Bretherton 3rd, Ollikainen 4th and Arto Savenius (FIN) 5th.
