It was already hot for the Senior Max Qualifying sessions of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals on Wednesday at noon in Sarno.

Paul Fourquemin (FRA) was first under the minute, but was not the only one in the odd-numbered group for long. Elia Galvanin (ITA) got noticed with in 59”588 in front of Shahan Ali Moshin (IND). Vincent France (DEU) was getting closer to the leader along with Daniel Vasile (ROU). Guillaume Treillard de Quinemont (FRA) then moved up to 3rd place. The positions did not change much in the last two laps and Galvanin remained in pole position a tenth ahead of France with Treillard in 3rd by 0.152”, with Vasile 4th and Fourquemin 5th by 0.249”.

The even-numbered group waited until the last moment to enter the track, the 5-minute regulation limit. Ryan Norberg (USA) set an early benchmark of 59”715 which was not surprisingly outpaced, probably because of the pack formation in this session. Oakley Pryer (GBR) followed in 2nd place by less than a tenth, followed by Axel Saarniala (FIN), Yuga Furutani (JPN) in 4th and Cody Gillis (AUS) in 5th. César Gazeau (FRA) finished 10th at 0.278” and Florian Bourdon 35th.

Galvanin was the Senior poleman ahead of France, Norberg took 3rd place, Treillard finished 4th ahead of Vasile. Fourquemin was 7th and Gazeau 18th.
