The four Qualifying Heats of the FIA Karting World Championship – KZ held on Saturday at Lonato did not disappoint the spectators. The poleman Adrien Renaudin (Sodi / TM) started with a win, but Marijn Kremers (Birel ART / TM) won twice in the late afternoon while Matteo Vigano (Tony Kart / Vortex), also victorious, took a slight advantage on Renaudin, who was tied on points with Simo Puhakka (Tony Kart / Vortex). Alessandro Irlando (Birel ART / TM) and Riccardo Longhi (Birel ART / TM) followed at a short distance. Bas Lammers (Sodi / TM) finished in 8th place after a very good second run to beat Mirko Torsellini (KR / Iame), who dropped back slightly, and Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex). After suffering from a weak engine in Qualifying, Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) continued his black run by breaking down in his first heat. He limited the damage gaining positions in the second heat. Rick Dreezen (KR / Iame) dropped due to retirement.
