Alahärmä’s skies had partly cleared for the FIA Karting World Championship – OK Final. The track was practically dry and logically the finalists had put on slick tyres. However a few patches of moisture persisted here and there. Finland’s Juho Valtanen (Redspeed / Iame) was on pole position alongside Dilano Vant’hoff (Exprit / TM), while Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR / Iame) and Gabriel Bortoleto (CRG / Iame) followed on the second row.

Vant’hoff and Bortoleto went out before the end of the first lap, followed by Olin Vieira Galli (CRG / Iame). Meanwhile, Valtanen pulled away without hesitation and Travisanutto, now 2nd, followed by 8 tenths and Taylor Barnard (KR / Iame) stayed close to the defending champion. Kirill Smal (Tony Kart / Vortex) was 4th ahead of Harry Thompson (FA Kart / Vortex) who had already taken 10 positions. Valtanen’s lead then gradually melted from lap 6. Starting 16th, Gabriel Mini’ (Parolin / TM) had then taken nine places. Travisnutto took 1st place with determination on the 11th of the 25 rounds of the Final.

Halfway through, Valtanen was still holding off Barnard, while Smal had almost joined the top three. In 5th position, Thompson continued to produce purple sectors. Valtanen closed the gap with Travisanutto and started to threaten him, then the Italian went so far as to stop the Finn to prevent him from passing. The top three were within 2 tenths then Smal and Thompson joined them. Barnard attacked Valtanen and took 2nd, then Thompson 3rd place, followed later by Smal.

Travisanutto won his second consecutive OK World Championship, 4 tenths ahead of Barnard. Thompson was 3rd on the podium, Smal and Valtanen completed the top five while Dexter Patterson (KR / Iame) was 6th ahead of Morgan Porter and Mini’. Sami Meguetounif (KR / Iame) finished 14th and Thomas Imbourg (KR / Iame) 23rd.
