Four Frenchmen were on the front two rows of the starting grid of the Mini Final of the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy at Le Mans – Augustin Bernier (FRA – KR), Jolan Raccamier (FRA – Birel ART), Arthur Poulain (FRA – KR) and Valentin Hervas (FRA – Birel ART). The top two were already leaving the rest of the pack behind after the first lap on the line, while Luigi Di Lazzaro (BRA – Intrepid) was in 4th position. Poulain strove to narrow the gap with Raccamier, the new leader, and Bernier while Simon Birch Kristensen (DNK – Birel ART) was 5th. The tension rose a notch in the lead when the Birch Kristensen joined Bernier as he attempted to attack Raccamier. Birch Kristensen was forced to take to the edge of the track during an attempt to overtake Raccamier who ended up winning against Bernier and Poulain. Piotr Czaja (POL – Energy) was 4th and Hervas 5th.

After the race, Raccamier was disqualified for bad manoeuver and Bernier for a technical problem. Poulain thus recovered 1st place ahead of Czaja and Hervas, while Birch Kristensen and Tom Braeken (BEL – Parolin) entered the top 5.
