Surprise victory for Ociepa during the Micro Prefinal

The 32 Mini drivers of the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy started in the sun for the 10 laps of their Prefinal after a slow warm-up lap. Colin Wazny (POL – Parolin) took the lead over Lenn Nijs (BEL – Exprit) while Christopher El Feghali (LBN – KR) was 3rd ahead of Nando Weixelbaumer (AUT – Exprit) and Anton Laksonen (FIN – Parolin). El Feghali then moved up to 2nd place and Wazny headed a very animated group of four. Juliusz Ociepa (POL – CRG) then took control in front of Wazny, while Thomas Strauven (BEL – Exprit) was 3rd ahead of El Feghali. Positions continued to evolve with a new leading trio on lap 7, with El Feghali 1st, Nijs 2nd and Ociepa 3rd. The battle for victory allowed Max Sadurski (NLD – Exprit) and Strauven to get closer to the leaders. Ociepa narrowly won in front of Nijs, El Feghali finished 3rd, Sadurski 4th and Strauven 5th.
