It was a pleasant surprise to see Kobe Pauwels (KR / Iame) leading the heats of the European OK Championship at Le Mans ahead of Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR / Iame) and Kirill Small (Tony Kart / Vortex). As usual, the last heats were stressful for the competitors and the differences in performance due to the use or not of new tyres depending on the strategy chosen did not help things. For example, Gabriele Mini’ (Parolin / TM) struggled to do better than 6th in his last heat. While Kas Haverkort (CRG / Iame) and Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart / Vortex) followed in 5th and 6th positions, Dexter Patterson (KR / Iame) scored only 7th ahead of Luigi Coluccio (Birel ART / TM). The battle for the title would therefore involve Travisanutto and Patterson, with an advantage for the Italian, while Mini’ could only mediate in this last run. In 14th, Thomas Imbourg (KR / Iame) was the best placed of the French, with Loris Cabirou (KR / Iame) 34th.
