Incredible Pole Position for Palomba in KZ2 at Sarno

The Timed Qualifying of the KZ2 European Championship started at Sarno with a temperature of about 38° in the air and 50° on the track. The competitors started 4 minutes 30 seconds from the end of the session. Positions changed even in the very last moments.

 

In the first session, David Vidales (Tony Kart / Vortex) was the fastest with 56”819, joined at the last moment by Emilien Denner (Sodi / TM) by 69 thousandths and Artem Kosarev (Croc Promotions / TM) in a dead heat with Alessio Piccini (Tony Kart / Vortex), 3 thousandths ahead of Paolo Besancenez (Sodi / TM). Then followed Emil Skaras (Energy / TM) by 0.157” and Riccardo Longhi (BirelART / TM) by 0.273”.

 

In the second session, Senna Van Walstijn (KR / TM) posted an incredible time of 56”712, four tenths ahead of all his opponents and improved to 56”668, 1.5 tenth faster than Session 1. Valentino Fritsch (BirelART / TM) reduced the gap to 0.139” ahead of Paavo Tonteri (Tony Kart / Vortex), then Luigi Di Lorenzo (CRG / TM) and Pierre Loubère (BirelART / TM). Natalia Balbo (Formula K / TM) took 6th place.

 

Giuseppe Palomba (Croc Promotions / TM) set a great time as soon as he came off the dummy grid and already took pole position with 56”468 before improving by 5 hundredths on the next lap. Giacomo Pollini (Formula K / TM) took 2nd place, 0.222” further behind, then Paul Evrard (Kosmic / Vortex) was in 3rd place, more than 5 tenths behind. Jean Nomblot (Sodi / TM) and Martijn Van Leeuwen (KR / Iame) finished in the top five. Hubert Petit (Sodi / TM) finished 6th ahead of Alexander Schmitz (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Tom Leuillet (Praga / Iame).
