Junior: Day wins the Kristianstad Final in style

After a spectacular show with two beautiful pyrotechnic explosions in the pure tradition of Swedish entertainment, the 34 Junior finalists started under a blue and sunny sky.

Although Tuuka Taponen (Redspeed / Iame) took the lead at the start, Kimi Antonelli (KR / Iame) dislodged him before the end of the first lap and Nikita Bedrin (Tony Kart / Vortex) followed him in 2nd position before taking control soon after. Philipp Victorsson (Tony Kart / Vortex) was 3rd ahead of Marcus Amand (Kosmic / Iame) and Alfio Spina (KR / Iame). Antonelli dropped to 4th on lap 3, just ahead of Jamie Day (Exprit / Vortex). Taponen fell to 10th position, then tp the back of the pack.  After five laps, Bedrin still led in front of Victorson, Amand, Day and Antonelli. Thomas Ten Brinke (FA Kart / Vortex) made a good recovery of nine places in 7th place and Suleiman Zanfari (Tony Kart / Vortex) also gained nine places to 9th position. On the other hand, Maxime Furon-Castelain (Kosmic / Iame) had fallen to 32nd.

Day replaced Amand in 2nd place and took the lead on lap 10, with Amand 2nd and Bedrin 3rd. Kajus Siksnelis (Tony Kart / Vortex) then attacked Antonelli for 5th place, then Victorsson for 4th and Bedrin for 3rd in his stride. Rafael Camara (BirelART / TM) and Theo Wernersson (Tony Kart / TM) crashed in the middle of the track. In front, Day did not weaken, he was the fastest and won by a second ahead of Amand, who was very solid.  Siksnelis took 3rd place 1.5 ” behind. Bedrin, Antonelli and Victorsson crossed the line 3” later, within 2 tenths. Ten Brinke finished 7th and Zanfari 8th.
