The weather uncertainty was prolonged from the morning onwards at Genk. Will it or will it not rain was the question occupying everyone’s mind. Drops have indeed fallen, usually scattered but still able to significantly reduce the pace.

The first session rushed on to the track as soon as the signal was given, on slick tyres on a not very adherent surface. Kas Haverkort (CRG / TM) was very comfortable in these tricky conditions as he dominated for a long time by more than a second before Alex Irlando (Birel ART / TM) took the lead by 0.176″ with a final lap of 1’12 “512. Nikolas Pirtiilhati (KR / Iame) finished 3rd by six tenths, followed by Ben Dörr (KR / Iame) and Dexter Patterson (KR / Iame). Among the seeded drivers, Matheus Morgatto (Tony Kart / Vortex) finished 19th by almost 12″ and Mathias Salonen (KR / Iame) 21st by over 14”.

Some drivers tried slicks in the second session. Ayrton Fontecha (CRG / Iame) took the jackpot with a time of 1’06″241 as the rain reappeared, setting the fastest time 4.8″ ahead of Morgan Porter (KR / Iame) but coming off the track. On the other hand, Juho Valtanen (Redspeed / Iame) came off before the end of his first lap. Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart / Vortex) saved 3rd place, followed by Frans-Emil Saarjärvi (KR / Iame) and Thomas Imbourg (Kosmic / Iame) for the top five. Franck Chappard (Redspeed / Iame) finished 9th, Loris Cabirou (Kosmic / Iame) 12th, Taylor Barnard (KR / Iame) 15th by 12″.

Still in contention on a slippery track using wet tyres, the third session saw Luigi Coluccio (Birel ART / TM) setting the fastest time – 1’07″934 – ahead of Rasmus Kortelainen and Pedro Hiltbrand for the top three, Gabriel Bortoleto in 4th and Mikkel Hojgaard 5th. Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR / Iame) finished 10th, Sami Megetounif (Kosmic / Iame) 12th, Tom Uzan (Kosmic / Iame) 14th ahead of Gabriele Mini (Parolin / TM), with Nicolas Picot (Kosmic / Iame) 18th.

After Fontecha’s penalty, as he had had overstepped the limits of the circuit, Coluccio took pole position in 1’07”934. Morgan Porter (KR / Iame) took 2nd place ahead of Irlando. Rasmus Kortelainen (Tony Kart / Iame) and Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart / Vortex) completed the top five. Dexter Patterson (KR / Iame) limited the damage in 12th position, but his direct pursuer Juho Valtanen (Redspeed / Iame) made a mistake using slicks and fell to 62nd place. The situation is not good either for another of the favourites, Gabriele Mini (Parolin / TM) in 43rd.
