Third in the 2016 French Cup in Cadet and finalist in the 2017 FIA Karting World Junior Championship, Jules Mettetal has won the 25th edition of the Winfield Volant, the second in the modern era. On the Paul Ricard circuit, Jules raised his game to be the fastest in almost every session.

The American Nicky Hays made a strong impression and pushed Jules Mettetal to its limits, but he held firm. “It’s a great joy for me to win this Volant and especially to win my participation in the French F4 FIA Championship,” said Jules. “I am truly proud of representing a major brand such like Winfield in 2019 and it is a great stepping stone for my career.

I made a lot of progress during these three days, thanks to the training provided by the Winfield staff and I really felt at my peak in the Final, both physically and mentally, but also with an excellent understanding of the car. It’s inspiring to see that Caio Collet, winner of the 2018 Winfield Volant, has joined the Renault Sport Academy and that Theo Pourchaire, the first winner of the Winfield Trophy, has joined the Sauber Junior Team.

The Winfield Trophy was won by Isack Hadjar, who won two test days with the FFSA Academy and participation in the last F4 race at Paul Ricard. The award for the best female, awarded in partnership with the “FIA Women in Motorsport” Commission, has been attributed to Doriane Pin.
