As last year, candidates for the Winfield Volant benefit from the presence of Laurent Sauriat at the Paul Ricard circuit. After training as a sports instructor, then as a relaxation teacher, this recognised professional was brought in to work with the “Patrouille de France” aerobatic display team, the special forces, the GIGN police tactical unit and many sportsmen.

Managing emotional potential and stress, whether positive or negative, is essential in a field like motorsport,” says Laurent Sauriat. “My goal is to put in place pragmatic tools to programme your body and mind according to what will happen. This mental imagery is based on the five senses of the driver.”

“In a competition, you have to have positive thoughts and language. There are those who believe and those who do not believe. And you have to believe it, especially on the day of a special event like the Winfield Volant where there will be only one winner. A driver must mentally plan for success.

Managing your emotions, your instinct, gaining confidence in your physical and mental abilities are part of the recipe for success. Methods to maximise your potential exist and the 18 drivers at Paul Ricard have had a glimpse of it.
