OK Super Heats: Turney and Patterson victorious

The good weather continued at Lonato with rising temperatures for the OK Super Heats of the Winter Cup. The strategy for fitting new tyres plays an important role in this particular phase of the competition.

Joseph Turney (Tony Kart / Vortex) dominated Super Heat 1, while Noah Milell (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Leandro Anderutti (KR / Iame) competed for 2nd place. Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart / Vortex) was in the leading group until the end where he finished 13th, while Luigi Coluccio (Birel ART / TM) was on a superb race to 2nd place. Anderutti took 3rd place and Milell 4th. Alvarenga Morgatto (Tony Kart / Vortex) was in the top five by a few lengths. Gabriele Bortoleto (CRG / Iame) came back to 7th with a gain of 11 places, but a penalty sent him back to 13th place. Kirill Smal (Tony Kart / Vortex) finished 7th in front of Kai Askey (FA Kart / Vortex). Maya Weug (Birel ART / TM) retired a few laps before the chequered flag.

Super Heat 2 was disrupted by several laps under the slow procedure following a minor accident. Dexter Patterson (KR / Iame) took the lead on the restart from Taylor Barnard (KR / Iame). Gabriele Mini (Parolin / TM) lost positions in the fight, and Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR / Iame) attacked to return to 2nd position. Paterson won the race ahead of Travisanutto and Barnard. Long 4th, Alexander Tauscher (KR / Iame) dropped to 10th position. Mini finished strongly with the fastest time in 4th position in front of Cristian Comanduci (Tony Kart / Iame), while Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / Iame) came back to 6th followed by Hugo Sasse (KR / Iame) and Harry Thompson (FA Kart / Vortex). Sami Meguetounif (Tony Kart / Vortex) had a good race, although he lost some ground for the finish and regained his 9th position.
