ADD Motorsports driver Lando Norris rounded off a brilliant month with his third win in four weeks as he cruised to victory in the Rotax Max Euro Challenge opener.?The 13-year-old racer from Glastonbury once again proved too quick for his rivals as he dominated the final in the Genk junior category. And the win came hot on the heels of his two other victories in the WSK Euro Series this March, which have gone some way to cementing his status as one of the most exciting young karters on the scene.
He said: “I’m really pleased, I’ve made a really big improvement on last year.? I’m driving a lot better and my concentration is better over all of the races now. It’s been a really, really good few races for me.“
?Lando finished first two times, and second, once, during the heats – identical finishing slots to two of his rivals. Lando’s slower times saw him start the pre-final in third.?An early shunt saw him drop a few positions, but when the opportunity to pull away from the pack and into the lead arose, he took it and stayed there for the remainder of the race.?Lando raced into an early lead in the main final, finding himself ahead of the pack with a four-kart length gap to second.
As the race progressed, his nearest rival made ground on him every lap and by the end of the race had closed it considerably.?But Lando’s early lead proved to be the deciding factor, allowing him to hold on for another superb win.
He added: “It was a comfortable win in the end, but if there had been another lap it might not have been so comfortable as he was getting closer and closer every lap.? But in the end it was a really good race. When I’m getting the chance to pull away I’m doing so and staying there.
Our preparation thanks to Mark and ADD Motorsports is much better and everything’s going really well at the moment.” ?Lando now heads to Sarno for the WSK Master Series.? He added: “It’s my first time there, so I’ll have to learn the track fast and see how I can get on from there.“
